"On the docket from Criterion is one of the collection's long-awaited titles, Jean-Pierre Melville's 1967 Le Samouraï starring Alain Delon, which will include a new, restored transfer, interviews with film historians Rui Nogueira and Ginette Vincendeau, archival interviews featuring Melville, Delon, and others, and a theatrical trailer (Oct. 18)."
Reading this news, the soundtrack in my head is the song "Oh Yeah" by Yellow (a la Ferris Bueller).
This is an absolutely perfect movie: poetic, visually stunning, affectionate of American noir but forging its own identity as well. And then there's that handsome devil Mr. Delon.
I think some really geeky video store should stay open until midnight to sell the first copies like they did with Harry Potter. I'll show up in a fedora and trenchcoat.

Hell yeah! Delon is a super pimp. God bless Criterion.
